Drop Off your acorns and tree seeds! Here’s all the information you need about collecting acorns this year! And a printable list of types of seed they need for Maryland.
Let us know if you need bags mailed to you for collecting with this form or pick them up from collection site. They should be paper or sandbag breathable material, not plastic!
- Collect Seeds – one bag for one tree!
- Deliver bag(s) to collection bin
- Label and weigh you bag
- Submit the bag weight and seed info on https://tinyurl.com/TTSeedData or use the QR code at the site
*Not sure what type of tree? Include a leaf or a small twig with your collection.
Maryland Department of Natural Resources is collecting the following species of seeds:
Oaks: White Oak, Chestnut Oak, Northern Red Oak, Black Oak
Other: Alder (Speckled and Hazel), American Plum, Chokeberry (Black and Red), Dogwood (Flowering and Red Osier), Eastern Red Cedar, Eastern Redbud (brown pods), Spicebush, Serviceberry, Winterberry and Witch Hazel.
