Thanks to our friends in the Woodmoor Neighborhood for hosting this Montgomery County drop off site! Look for the banner in the front yard, to the right of the house and the bin is right behind it.
Drop Off your acorns and tree seeds! Here’s all the information you need about collecting acorns this year! And a printable list of types of seed they need for Maryland. Please place your collections in paper bags or something breathable – not plastic!
- Collect Seeds – one bag for one tree!
- Deliver bag(s) to collection bin
- Label and weigh your bag (Tree type, Date collected, Weight)
*Not sure what type of tree? Include a leaf or a small twig with your collection.
Specific trees of Maryland to collect from:
Oaks: Black Oak, Bur Oak, Chestnut Oak, Northern Red Oak, Overcup Oak, Scarlet Oak, Southern Red Oak, Swamp White Oak, White Oak Other: American Plum, Chokeberry (Black), Dogwood (Flowering), Eastern Red Cedar, Eastern Redbud, Spicebush & Witch Hazel.
