Drop Off your acorns and tree seeds! Here’s all the information you need about collecting acorns this year! And a printable list of types of seed they need for Virginia.
Let us know if you need bags mailed to you for collecting with this form or pick them up from collection site. They should be paper or sandbag breathable material, not plastic!
- Collect Seeds – one bag for one tree!
- Deliver bag(s) to collection bin
- Label and weigh you bag
- Submit the bag weight and seed info on https://tinyurl.com/TTSeedData or use the QR code at the site
*Not sure what type of tree? Include one small twig with your collection.

About Virginia Dept of Forestry
The Virginia Department of Forestry (VDOF) collects a variety of species of acorns and nuts that can be planted at its Augusta Nursery (Crimora, Va.) to grow into tree seedlings that will become the forests of tomorrow.
